At the age of 19, William already had a clear career plan, guided by his deep admiration for his father, Mr. Aloyse Rose, a seasoned sailor. This passion for the sea led William on a remarkable journey, culminating in the successful operation of a high-speed catamaran service between the Inner Islands and the Amirantes in Seychelles.

A Sailor's Early Days

Accompanying his father on voyages aboard the renowned schooners "Ste Anne" and "Voltizer" that sailed through the Inner Islands and the Amirantes, William's love for the ocean blossomed. At the age of 19, William acquired his first boat, a 30-passenger schooner named "Lady Mary," which he managed independently.

Silhouette - A Dream Realized

Undeterred by rough seas and motivated by his unwavering passion for the sea, William designed and built his own vessel, "Silhouette," in 1984. The entire construction process took only 23 months, a testament to his dedication and skill. From that moment on, William remained steadfast in his commitment to the ocean.

The Rose's Upgraded Experience

In a bid to enhance the travel experience between Praslin and La Digue, the Rose family embarked on a project to upgrade their schooners to a fast and reliable catamaran service. As a result, the once 30-minute crossing was now completed in just 15 minutes, ensuring travelers reached their destinations more efficiently.

Comfort and Entertainment on Board

With a focus on passenger comfort and enjoyment, the Rose's catamaran offered an open-top deck, allowing passengers to relish the refreshing sea breeze and occasional salty splash. Onboard entertainment provided a pleasant Creole ambiance, ensuring an entertaining journey to their destination.

Check-In Procedure

To ensure a smooth boarding process, passengers were advised to arrive at the jetty at least 30 minutes before the scheduled departure time. The Praslin office was conveniently located at the ERO Passenger Terminal, while the La Digue office was housed in the Seychelles Port Building in La Passe. Passengers needed to present a printed copy of their e-ticket to receive their boarding pass.

Luggage Allowance and Re-confirmation

Each passenger was allowed to carry one small hand-held item and up to 30kg of accompanied baggage, subject to size limitations. For smooth operations, passengers were urged to re-confirm their reservations 72 hours before departure. Additionally, the schedule was subject to change, making re-confirmation crucial for avoiding any inconvenience.

Cancellation Policy

In the event of cancellations made more than 48 hours before departure, passengers received a full refund, minus any applicable charges. Cancellations made within 48 hours of departure or no-shows resulted in non-refundable tickets. However, a single free date/time change was possible, subject to availability.
